I can't believe the size of this fish and the time it took to reel it in. Amazing! I would eat tuna for months and die of mercury poisoning if that was my catch.

In a world of frozen meats, 'steely' tasting tinned food and dreary sandwiches, traditional Japanese food comes as a godsend to most of us. Elegant and refined, the Japanese cuisine is said to be one of the greatest cuisines in the world, and i wont disagree with that!

On a recent business trip to Colorado, Japan's agriculture minister popped into an inviting Japanese restaurant with a hankering for a taste of back home. AT Megu, which is only a few blocks from Matsugen, you can marvel at the gigantic bell that hangs from the ceiling, at the ice Buddha beneath it or at any number of other decorative exclamation points. Matsugen, in contrast, has some fish tanks between the dining room and the kitchen (a holdover from the previous restaurant, 66), but no other particularly striking visual flourishes. Its aesthetic is uncluttered, almost monastic.

I really want to give this place another star but cant as of yet. It is Korean family owned. They are in the process of getting their liqour license so their menu's were a bit confusing. They didnt have the beer pictured on the menu and they were out of or did not have what we really wanted to order from the menu.

My friend told me this was her favorite sushi restaurant in town, so I was excited to fulfill my sashimi craving. I've been eating sashimi and sushi since I was 5 and I've been to the best and the worst spots all over California. Sushi is actually a family business so I have very discerning taste. To my delight I was very satisfied with the quality and taste of the food and the hospitable and warm service . I love that they also offered free green tea and miso without having to charge for every little thing. I'm calling Litchfield home for now so I'm relieved I can get some "home-made food" in a new town.

Our sushi arrived pretty quickly. It was good. Not great and not awful. It was good, that's all I can say. I gobbled it up, yes, for I love sushi of all kinds. I just wasn't blown away or overly impressed. I definitely would not say this is the best sushi I've had - here in Phoenix or anywhere, for that matter. It's probably on the bottom tier, actually. [4/5 Stars]

I'm torn over how I feel about Ichi Ban; I love it for its atmosphere and flavor, but every time I look at their menu (and my subsequent bill) I am constantly reminded that I am not loved in return. It's heartbreaking. [3/5 Stars]
