My friend told me this was her favorite sushi restaurant in town, so I was excited to fulfill my sashimi craving. I’ve been eating sashimi and sushi since I was 5 and I’ve been to the best and the worst spots all over California. Sushi is actually a family business so I have very discerning taste. To my delight I was very satisfied with the quality and taste of the food and the hospitable and warm service . I love that they also offered free green tea and miso without having to charge for every little thing. I’m calling Litchfield home for now so I’m relieved I can get some “home-made food” in a new town.
I’ve been to this location 3 times now, and I’ve recieved great service and excellent food everytime. For a few of my friends, their experience was the exact opposite.
Friend #1 has two kids and he went at dinner time. He said that the place was very bad for kids and the service was horrible. On a lighter side, he said the food was excellent.
Friend #2 went with her boyfriend at around the same time as friend #1 and said the service was poor. The server would come in 30 minute intervals to see what they needed and wasn’t friendly at all, but they also said the food was great.
Friend #3 went at lunch time during the week, and said the service was slow, but not that bad. Again, this
friend also said the food was yummy.
So perhaps they have service issues, but the food is good without a doubt in my mind. I checked out their website and it states on the home page that they are in desperate need of wait staff, so that might explain the service. Perhaps it’s pretty hard to find peole to work in that type of restaurant, or maybe they don’t pay enough. I’m not sure, seeing as I have never ran or worked in a restaurant before.
I know I will go back, I love the food. I split my sushi experience between Tomo and Ichiban down the street. Ichiban has teppanyaki tables and a lively atmosphere thanks to the teppan cooks giving a good show. I’m lucky to have these establishments beside me.
My rating was determined by my experience and that of my friends. Without the influence of my trusted friends this place would get a 4.5/5.
